The high-profile case involving businessman Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala, and suspended National Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola has been postponed to 26 June 2026, for further investigation, verification, and disclosure of the docket.
Masemola appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, alongside Matlala and 12 other police officers over the R360 million SAPS Medicare24 tender.
Matlala and the officers, face charges including fraud, money laundering, and breaches of financial legislation, while Masemola faces four counts of contravening the PFMA.
Masemola has continued to maintain his innocence, saying “I know I am not guilty,” he said outside court. “I may be seen next to serious criminals, but I know I am not wrong”.
