Zuma-Sambudla and Ndhlela to continue challenging expulsions

Johannesburg –Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla and Nhlamulo Ndhlela will, in a week’s time, file another interdict to challenge their expulsions after the matter was struck from the roll on Tuesday on procedural grounds.

In a joint media statement, the pair said the presiding judge removed the matter from the court roll because there had not been sufficient time to study the court papers and prepare to hear the application.

According to the statement, the ruling was procedural and did not amount to a judgment on the merits of the case.

“The substantive issues before the Court remain entirely undecided. The merits of our application have not been heard, argued, or adjudicated upon,” the statement said.

Ndhlela and Zuma-Sambudla have added that their legal team had been instructed to re-enrol the application on an urgent basis next week, expressing confidence that the matter should be heard and determined by the court.

They have further stated that they respected the court’s processes and intended to pursue all available legal remedies in challenging the expulsions.

The legal dispute relates to the expulsions of Zuma-Sambudla and Ndhlela, with the statement maintaining that the court has yet to consider the substantive issues raised in its application.

A date for the re-enrolled application has not yet been announced.
